Hi All:
For those who are contemplating creating their own website I have a few suggestions.
With my novels due out soon I contacted a computer guy earlier this year about creating a website for me -- thinking that I wanted to reserve my time for fiction writing rather than coding.
The site looks okay -- see the link below -- but having to go through someone who is busy at other things when I want updates and changes is not a good idea. I have a few updates pending now and no sign of anything happening -- maybe he'll get at it this long weekend.
He is also having difficulty transferring the pages from his own server to my ISP, where they are supposed to go. The browser transfer is seamless, so you can access the site, but I don't want it there forever. Adding things like givaways, contests and other promotion seems like a pipe-dream.
I'm seriously thinking of looking at the free website hosting in order to create a new website for each novel, where I can post information and reviews myself as I get them.
